Welcome to The Pointing Dog
The Pointing Dog is a well-loved, beautiful pub in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. Featuring a new bar, relaxed dining areas and a truly stunning beer garden to while away your afternoons and evenings.
The bar is filled with the JW Lees family of beers, including local favourites; Manchester Pale Ale, JW Lees Bitter, Manchester Craft Lager and Original Lager, as well as a back bar lined up with premium gins and spirits and a cellar full of hand-picked wines.
Warm up by the fire on a cool day with a hearty meal and a delicious pint of cask ale or take in the sun on a warmer day after a long walk with a refreshing pint of lager in our beer garden. We’re dog friendly in allocated areas of the pub and our beer garden and our outside bar makes ordering that extra pint just a little bit easier.

Pull up a chair with our new Spring menu in Cheadle Hulme. Enjoy delicious seasonal dishes, made for warm days and cold pints with friends and family. Perfect for pairing with our Manchester-made beers, our new menu includes seasonal salads, new signature dishes, succulent grills and more. Not forgetting your pub favourites like our legendary cheese & onion pie, MPA battered cod fillet and the iconic Brewery tower burger.
If you’re planning a midweek catch-up, try our Prix Fixe set menu. Served all day from 12 noon Monday to Friday, enjoy two courses for only 17.45 or three for 19.95. Go on… treat yourself to a laid-back bite and a proper pint.
Sunday is a day of roast. Ours come with bottomless gravy and unlimited Yorkshire puddings (because one Yorkie is never enough and good gravy should never run out). Nothing beats a proper roast, and it’s even better without the bother of cooking and cleaning.
